80/20 Rules!

Seriously?

Yes. These were my goodie-baskets I took home from The Sugar Coma Festival yesterday.

My good friend, The Broke Socialite, out did herself as The Sugar Coma Festival was FAB-U-LOUS. The event brought together some of the Southeast’s finest pastry chefs, bakers and sugar artisans in one spot for attendees to taste their works of art. A sweets-lover’s dream.

I came. I saw. I conquered. Now, I can’t do no more.

Sugar Coma was the perfect culmination to my excessive splurging. I’m all for a good treat but when the 80/20 rule gets flipped around and I’m eating poorly 80 percent of the time something has to change besides my waistline.

I’m not sure if I was suffering from marathon mentality thinking that 26.2 miles gave me the right to eat everything in sight or if it was my regular insanity, ahem, but whatever the cause I’m cutting it off.

I’m reinstating the mighty 80/20 rule and I could use a second to my motion. Or, an Amen. Or, someone to call me out if I start slipping. Holla.

Thanks so much for coming! Wasn't it fun? I think my swag will include salt licks and potato chips next time. Back to the gym tonight!

Sooo with you. This last week (after my marathon), I have been eating whatever the heck I want. Not because I feel like I have the right to, but because well, I just let myself have that after months of training and working and racing hard. It's not been all sugar (except that one night I had 2 bowls of ice cream and peanut butter). My weakness is CHEESE! I'll try and finish up those blue cheese crumbles today and THEN, I'll get back at the veggies. I'll help you if you help me! :-)

I so hear you! I didn't even run a fall marathon and I've been eating like I did. No big surprise that my jeans are getting snug...

I'm trying to take back my eating now too. Good luck!

So glad I'm not alone! I'm all for cheering each other on - especially with the holidays coming - gasp! I'm in search of some low cal desserts!

80/20 sounds like a great rule...It's been a week of, ahem, "mother nature's gift"...and it's just not helping. at.all.

time to get on the wagon, or off the wagon, or whatever. Time to stop eating junk!
