Project Me: BEFORE Picture and Stats

I’m not sure if I should really call this BEFORE anything since I just took them yesterday and I’m STILL this size, but for the sake of my weight loss project whose dumbass idea was this anyway I’ll go with it.

I used to be baffled at how the contestants on The Biggest Loser seem so shocked when they step on the scale. Um, yeah, well not anymore. I also know why they make that scale so big for them because they might try to pick it up and hurl it across the room like I almost did. Ahem.

Since I decided to tell the world that I’d like to get into a bikini – and look GOOD – on my 40th birthday, I figure I should go on and let the world know how much HARD WORK it’s going to take. Yup, I see a lot of long runs, strength training and clean eating in my future. A LOT.

My STATS
Height: 5’11
Weight: 195.5
Arm: 13 inches
Chest: 40 inches
Waist: 35 inches
Stomach: 39 & ½ inches
Hips: 44 inches
Thigh: 24 & ½ inches

Be it that I’m NOT bikini ready now I decided I shouldn’t scare you lovely people away with a BEFORE bikini shot. But, I had to keep it real.

No hiding today. GASP! Damn that eggnog and pound cake.

Phew. I’m glad that’s over. That was hard, folks. And, I can’t even go have a beer. Please be nice.

Winks & Smiles,

So awesome to read Keepin' It Real kind of blogs! So excited to see you reach your goals!! :) So inspiring to see people with goals who keep growing in life instead of just let life take control. :)

BIKINI? They scare me. I have never in my life worn one. But YOU... you do that thing girl!!!

Best of luck with your goal!! You can do it!! I found that nothing gets me in shape better than running. I just had my first baby in October and made it my goal this year to train for and complete my first marathon. (Yes, I'm probably crazy but thought it would be a great way to get my body back!)

I think you are beautiful, but that is hard to hear when it's not what you are thinking. 5'11" Wow! That said from a 5'4" shorty....let's make it a great one!

Hi Wifey,

Good luck on your weight loss journey (but you look fab as you are :-)). I have a follower of this scrapbook related blog for a few years now and the other embarked on a similar weight loss journey last year. She documents her status (visually and with words) each month. And she is a runner! You might find it inspiring too. And she even offers her readers free templates to document their journey, too! Check her out here:

Good luck!,

While I think you are beautiful and look fabulous, I know our journeys are relative. I was right there with you throwing back cocktails and desserts. My middle? From your brother in law's rigatoni. I can't stop thinking about it. It makes my gut expand as I taste it in my head. Ha! Good luck! I'll be right here beside you, friend.

Cheers to you for keeping it real and posting pictures! I like to see "real" weight loss - the good, bad and ugly.

Good luck with your goals.

You look fabulous to me! But okidokie, let's do the damn thing! Maybe I'll wear a bikini on your birthday too.... SYKE! Let's just start wit a regular bathing suit (since I haven't worn one since 2004)

You already know that I think you are one of the most gorgeous persons I've ever met. And, as someone mentioned, all of our goals are relative. I KNOW you'll be in a bikini at 40. No doubt in my mind. I wish we lived closer so you could whip me into bikini shape!

You are already foxy! Go ahead and take it to the next level, mama! You can so do this! And ditto on Corey's rigatoni. I do not want to see that stuff for a very long time because I will inhale copious amounts.

Might I suggest adding Just Dance 2's "Jump, Jump" to your workout regimen? ;-)

Thanks, Everyone! I appreciate all of your kind words. You all have me so INSPIRED to make it happen - smiles!

You are fabulous in a bottle girl... I've actually just gotten serious about losing weight as well. Started eating clean 5 days ago and feel so much better already. I haven't even had a diet coke... for realzzzzz!

You get BIG PROPS for posting the stats and photo! Not that your stats or photo are bad--I think you are just fine the way you are and look beautiful--but I won't do that myself. Nope.

Thanks for posting that picture!! It is so easy to get caught up in believing that other people are perfect and then let that discourage you. I am glad you are inspired and I am too!!

Hehehehe I am 6'0 and 195 :) I sorta overdid it lately.. gotta get back on track ASAP.. HUGS!!

Nice to know that you are NOT IN ANY WAY EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO ANYONE WHO WOULD EVER BE CAST ON THE BIGGER LOSER.. simply time to firm up for YOURSELF :) Right??

You'll do it! So brave of you to post while you are still working on it.

Krystal Grant said...

If anyone can do it, Wifey can! Go Lorraine, Go!

You know what? The first thing I noticed in your photo was your gorgeous smile, so no worries. You'll be wearing that bikini and then your smile will be visible from space! :)

Thanks soooo much for keeping it real on this post. I needed it. I was thinking that if I got marathon ready then all my weight loss would come over the training time. I guess I better make sure weights & crunches mat are my close friends! Good luck on the rest of your journey!

PROUD of you for putting it out there, girl!!

And you just inspired me to get down to my basement (workout room) and do my #p90x for the day!
