I’m nearing the end of the first month of Project Me. While I’m pretty pleased with the results, every week I still look back to see what I did; and then look forward to see what I can do BETTER next week.
I’ve challenged myself to be the best that I can be and that means taking things to a higher level. In the past I’ve found myself doing a good job and getting too comfortable with that. “Good” isn’t good enough to be the BEST.
I’m retraining my brain. When I find that I’m happy with my results instead of patting myself on the back and staying content; I’m patting myself on the back and searching for new ways to go farther. Sometimes it's hard, but it's always worth it.
How about you? Are you doing everything you can do to be your best? How do you stay motivated to move to the next level? I’d LOVE to know …

Ooooh, I love this! It can be so easy to get comfortable and stop pushing ourselves when there are still so many ways to get BETTER!
I push myself every day, sometimes to extremes. To run farther than the person next to me at the gym, to pump more weights than the beefy guy, always want to be the one on top all the time. Sometimes, I have to make myself step back and look at reality, and think to myself, you only have to be better than you were yesterday, not better than everyone else.
this post couldn't have come at a better time! I had a little unnecessary negativity come my way today with people doubting my abilities and what I do. It hurt but ultimately I realized I know when I'm doing my best. I know when I'm slacking, and I know when I can be doing better. And the truth is we can always be better! But to let others doubts affect me is just silly. I know my heart. and that;s what matters ; ) can't wait for princess!
Thanks, Ladies! Great insight! Smiles!
I love this thought! I need to work on it a lot - really - sometimes it's all I can do to just "exist" - and I really should be striving for more! Now... off to devise a plan!
I think you have to surround yourself with people that have that mindset where they want to push themselves. My CrossFit affiliate serves this purpose for me because you are always trying to top your last workout there. There is also good natured competition going on all the time if you want it.
There can be a negative side to that mentality though because every workout and every run will not be a PR. It is a tricky thing to accept that while still pushing yourself.
