Friday’s Confession …
I SUCK at portion control. No, really. I’m not being modest here. Portion control is probably the biggest challenge I face when it comes to redesigning the healthier, more fit and sexy, ahem, body I’m striving for.
I’m pretty good at making healthy choices most of the time. I don’t do sodas, I switched my whites to wheats and all that jazz, but I need to remember that just because something is healthy doesn’t mean that I can eat it in mass quantities. My eyes see things bigger than my stomach; and quite honestly if it tastes good I simply like to eat it.
Yes, I would normally fill the bottom bowl with whole-grain wheat pasta and organic ground turkey sauce – and possibly go back for seconds; while really I only need the smaller bowl and maybe some broccoli, green beans or spinach salad to round it out. What I'm choosing to eat is great, but how much of it is not.
Now, I’m trying to eat smaller, more frequent meals (every 2-3 hours) and realize that if I like a dish, I can always have more of it for a another meal later. I’m also using lunch plates for my meals instead of the big ol’ dinner plates. If it can’t fit on the plate, then I don’t need it.
How about you? Am I the only one? How do you handle portion control? Me and my belly would love to know.

Who IS this Dude?
Ironically, that same doubtful darling is the only one at Wifey’s house who still believes in Santa four years later.
I LOVE this time of year.

Giveaway: 5 Reasons I’m Rockin’ Fila Body Toning Pants and Want to Give You Some, Too!
The good folks at Fila were kind enough to send me a pair of the new toning resistance long tights to try out and that’s exactly what I did. I wore them during a strength training workout and on a 3 mile run. Here are the Top 5 reasons why I didn’t want to take them off like them and want to give you some, too.
1. They look FABULOUS on. Sure that’s superficial but when I look good, I feel good and enjoy working out more. Yes y’all they hide the flaws. Some tights show the not so flattering side of my thighs and butt, ahem, but I could run to Target to do a little shopping in these tights and turn a few heads.
2. They FEEL good. When I pulled them out the package I thought I would never be able to pull them up, but I did and they felt comfortable. They hugged my body but didn’t give me that squeezed-to-tight feeling; and I love that they come high enough that I don’t have spillage at my waist. Very important, folks.
3. They keep me WARM. I hate to be cold. Hate it. I know I live in Hotlanta but those early morning runs in the winter time can be chilly. These tights were thick enough for my winter workouts.
4. Husband paid me a COMPLIMENT. He noticed my new look and happily volunteered to take this picture for my post.
5. They were LONG enough. At 5’11 finding tights and pants that are long enough for me can be challenging. I didn’t feel like I was wearing high-waters. They fit comfortably and had no slippage. Slippage sucks.
